The installation BRANCHES is a new version created especially for the exhibition Rehenes/Ostaggi. This project was curated by Alexandra Gracco Kopp and Giulia Giovanardi

This sphere by Elizabeth Aro is placed at the atrium of this deconsacred church inspired by Pietro de la Francesa’s  painting “La Madonna del Parto” where the egg is a metaphore of life. Together with this symbology, the structure is covered with roots that evoke the veins and the changing light from the church windows operates on them.
 In this installation returns the use of trade-technique of sewing, basis of many past works by Aro, such as a reference to a manual proceed proposed also like a symbolic way to sewing connections and relationships.
